Located in Qianjiang New Town, once tidal mudflats and fishponds, Hotel Indigo Hangzhou CBD reflects the dramatic transformation of its surroundings. Inspired by the tidal rhythm of the Qiantang River—renowned for its powerful bore—the design embraces contrast as a form of balance: fluid yet structured, bold yet composed. The interiors channel this duality through sculptural forms, layered materials, and spatial rhythms that echo the energy of a city in motion. References to Hangzhou’s geography, tides, and evolving identity appear not as literal motifs, but as patterns of flow, texture, and contrast throughout the hotel. From public spaces to guestrooms, every area is conceived as part of a larger narrative—where tradition meets progress, and stillness is always in conversation with momentum. ​In a city shaped by water and time, the hotel offers more than accommodation; it reflects the pulse of modern Hangzhou, alive with movement, memory, and reinvention.
